Decade of Danika: Happy Birthday, Sweatheart!

 

Ten years ago, I finally got my little girl. I never imagined how she would change my world and prove your first child isn't always preparation for what comes next. Danika has made life an adventure that is filled with creativity, high energy, kindness, and a touch of delightful mischief. 

She is the little girl I always hoped for, and somehow, she became even more. Over the past decade, she has challenged me, inspired me, and filled my life with stories (many of which she prefers I keep to myself). She is an artist, a storyteller, a fearless outside-the-box thinker, and a force of love and acceptance. 

Watching her grow has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. As she turns ten, I can’t help but reflect on how fleeting time is. One moment, she was a tiny bundle in my arms, and now she’s this radiant, confident, hilarious young person with dreams of her own. 

I am endlessly proud of who she is becoming, and I can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next. 

 Happy birthday, Danika. You are one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever received, and I am beyond blessed to be your dad.
