A Perfect Day for a Young Boy and His Turtle

Here’s a picture of Everett back in 2013, having the time of his life at the Toronto Zoo.

I was going to write a long post about politics and tribalism today, but you know what? I’ll just keep it simple: go vote. (Assuming you’re Canadian, because if you’re not, marching into a polling station today is probably going to get you some weird looks.)

After you vote or get kicked out of a polling station, find something that makes you as happy as animals made young Everett in 2013.

Honestly, that feels like the kind of energy the world could use a lot more of right now.

Also, yes, it’s Monday, and no, I haven’t recorded or posted a new podcast episode yet. It might not happen today. It has very much been one of those days.

I had a job lined up that I thought was a sure thing… until it very much wasn’t. And let’s just say my emotional stability — which was already a bit like a Jenga tower in a hurricane — has been officially tossed back into the raging ocean.

Again.

Plus, this week was always going to be a bit bonkers, even without the emotional freefall. But hey, it’s a new week, and late is still better than never. The plan (and yes, there is a plan) is to get the podcast up eventually, write some pop culture goodness, and start hatching the official Career Win Master Plan™.

If you feel like helping out a slightly soggy but determined neurodivergent writer trying to stand back up again, I’d be beyond grateful.

Every little bit of support — reading, sharing, commenting, PayPal donation, or sending positive vibes — truly makes a difference.

And if nothing else, I hope today brings you at least one moment that makes you grin like a little boy hanging out with a turtle.
