We turned our pick up Everett from Quebec duty into a family trip around the province with a detour to Ottawa before heading home. It has been wonderful with many gorgeous sites, special time with the family, and copious amounts of cheese and poutine.
All you could ask for.
But I'm also well aware that the constant stimulation and travelling are wiping me out. Part of that is also coming with my brain racing with the knowledge that this will continue for several more weeks, as we have a cottage trip, and some time in Stratford. As well, I have a play to write and perform. And a career to try to get back on track.
Anyway, the point is, as a neurodivergent creator with a family who wants to do things this summer, I can both have an absolutely wonderful time but also get completely drained. And I'm left yearning for a day of refueling and resting. Not going to really happen, but at least I am more aware now of why my emotions can bounce around like a ping pong. Or why, I'm completely wiped and unable to do anything creative for a short bit.
Just a bit of brain fog, but for wonderful reasons.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
