Not Sure What December Will Look Like

I'll be honest. I need to make some big moves to actually put money in my bank account and justify calling this writing thing a career. I love my readers, this site, newsletter, and podcast, but they right now accumulate to about the ability to buy a specialty coffee and a sandwich a month. I need to keep on focusing on my freelance work, or more specifically, returning my freelance career into something viable.

I'm going to be launching a pretty big initiative this week in the hope of landing more business clients and offering some services for small project customers. This will either mean focusing on quick turnaround work or spending much of my time pitching and selling,

Either way, not sure what that will mean for time devoted to the site, newsletter, and podcast. The goal is still something of quality but maybe not quantity, posted every day here, a newsletter at least once a week, and the weekly podcast.

Hopefully.

It may mean most of my pieces will be much shorter than I'd like and much more of the anecdotal variety.

I really want to grow my audience. I want to offer great work for them. I'll definitely be trying my best to return to reviewing movies, writing thoughtful pop culture essays, and crafting some stories. Most of my energy needs to be work that will fill up that struggling bank account.

Hopefully, I can manage both, and if I hit some immediate financial goals, then I can write many of the things I really want to on here.

Just a warning that this month may not be award-winning like a certain cook's hearing.
