Spreading Spicer Christmas Cheer: Three Shows, Five Spicers, and A Whole Lot of Holiday Magic

If you’ve followed this site for any length of time, you know that the Spicer household runs on equal parts theatre, chaos, and Christmas spirit. Lucky for all of us, this year we’re blending all three and taking them on the road... well, on the stage.

Between church, Arcady, and the Paris Performers’ Theatre, the Spicers are basically becoming the peppermint-flavoured Von Trapps. So, if you’re looking for festive fun, here’s everywhere you can find us bringing some holiday cheer.

🎶 Christmas With Arcady — Emily, Everett, and Danika Take the Stage

We kick things off this Saturday at 7:30 pm at St. Andrew’s Church in Brantford, where my lovely trio—Emily, Everett, and Danika—will be part of Christmas with Arcady. It’s a beautiful concert filled with music, community, and all the things that make December feel like December.

If you’re up for a cozy evening surrounded by talent and twinkling lights, this is the perfect start to your holiday season. Tickets are $36 for adults and $14 for those under 18. You can get more information and tickets here.

🎭 The Mayor Who Banned Christmas — The Kids Shine With Paris Performers’ Theatre

Maybe one show isn’t enough Christmas spirit for you. Don’t worry: the Spicers aim to please.

We’re stepping onto a new stage this year, joining Paris Performers’ Theatre for a Holiday Double Bill. First up is The Mayor Who Banned Christmas, where the kids get to bring their theatrical energy to a story packed with heart, humour, and a healthy dose of festive rebellion.

Danika is performing in a supporting role throughout the run, and Everett will be in a supporting role on the first weekend and then step into the lead role on December 12th and 13th. Proud dad moment? Absolutely.

📻 It’s a Wonderful Life — A Live Radio-Play Experience

After the kids wrap up their show each night, Emily and I get to jump into something completely different.

We’ll be performing in a live stage version of the classic 1930s/40s radio play It’s a Wonderful Life, complete with multiple character voices, classic sound cues, and the kind of charm only old-time radio can deliver.

Between the two of us, we’ll be tackling characters like Clarence the Angel, Mr. Potter, Violet, and Rose. I’ll let you guess who’s playing whom, because you're detectives like that.

Performances run on December 5th, 7th, 12th, and 13th at 7 pm. Tickets are only $20 for both shows, making this one of the most affordable stage nights we’ve ever done.

It may not be as large-scale as our Playful Fox or Community On Stage productions, but it’s unique, cozy, and full of Christmas joy. There’s just something magical about performing a story the way audiences experienced it nearly a century ago. You can get more information and tickets here.

🎁 Come Celebrate the Season With Us

It’s been a challenging year in many ways—recoveries, adjustments, schedules, and the never-ending adventure of learning to work with my neurodivergent brain instead of against it. But theatre continues to be a place where my family and I can shine, connect, and breathe.

If you’re looking for a way to boost your holiday spirit or just want to see the Spicers in action, we’d love to have you in the audience at any (or all!) of these shows.

From our stage to your holiday season, thank you—as always—for supporting our little family of storytellers.
