Wishing Upon a Christmas Miracle

I need about $2,500 to mosey into my bank account within days. That’s the minimum.

If this were a 1990s Christmas movie, one with angels, twinkling lights, and a guaranteed happy ending, I’d stretch that wish by another thousand or two. Enough to buy some gifts, build a small buffer, and feel a sense of momentum heading into yet another year.

The last few years have been heavy. Depression and anxiety slowed everything down, largely stemming from what I now understand was autistic burnout. It drained my energy to create, to build my career, and, most painfully, to keep the work I already had.

Now, some of that energy is finally coming back. But I’m also navigating the life-altering realization that I’m both ADHD and autistic, and learning how to actually work with my brain instead of constantly fighting it. That means understanding my strengths, accommodating my challenges, and healing mental and emotional wounds that didn’t form overnight.

I can’t wait until everything is perfectly sorted out, because I don’t have that luxury. I need to keep building my career while doing this work. I need to earn, create, and heal at the same time.

I don’t expect a generous millionaire to suddenly appear and wipe out the debt. But there might be a few long-time readers who appreciate my work and want to throw a little support my way. There may be people who like the idea of a paid tier with exclusive reviews, essays, and stories on Substack, and would be willing to pledge now so I can launch it with confidence.

Or maybe you own a business and need quick-turnaround writing in the next few days, something Christmas-focused or content designed for a New Year launch. I have over a decade of professional experience, and I specialize in sales copy that’s warm, thoughtful, and value-driven. Not just promotion, but something that actually connects with readers and customers.

I also still have a few spots open for Santa Letters and custom Christmas stories. If you’ve enjoyed my writing, you already know I bring imagination, heart, and detail to my storytelling, and I’d love to create something unforgettable for someone you love.

This wish isn’t just about money. It’s about momentum. It’s about stretching my creative muscles again and feeling like I’m putting something genuinely wondrous into the world.

Once that momentum returns, I’m excited about everything I plan to launch in 2026, and about making it the best year yet for my career and creative projects.

If my work resonates with you, you can support it by subscribing to my Life on the Balcony newsletter or tossing a few dollars into the tip jar through the Support Me badge or my Ko-fi page. You can also consider hiring me for your business. Every bit helps me keep going and keep building.
