AuDHD often feels like a pinball machine.
Your mind is the ball, bouncing off countless paddles of ideas, lights of ambition flashing everywhere, never able to stay in one place. Constant motion. Constant noise. Always a little out of control, flailing to figure out where to land.
There’s always the threat of crashing straight down into the pit, having to start all over again.
But then, sometimes, you land in one of those pockets.
For a brief moment, everything goes still. You’re focused. Locked in. Racking up points.
That’s the creative groove. The surge of passion. The moment when you’re suddenly excelling in a way that baffles people around you.
Wait, you wrote an entire book in three days?
You memorized all your lines in an afternoon?
How did you improvise a whole character on the spot?
You already researched the entire history of that movie?
Being neurodivergent can feel chaotic and out of control, but it’s the very same mind that produces those shocking, undeniable moments of brilliance.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
