This isn’t the first time I’ve played a woman on stage, but it is the first time I’m being 'paid' to do it.
This particular role lets me indulge two deep wells of childhood joy: The Golden Girls and a classic whodunit murder mystery.
The play itself is genuinely hilarious, and will be a great nostalgia trip for those who loved the iconic '80s sitcom. I'm channeling Bea Arthur as I play Dorothy. It is a funny character, but very different than my past comedic roles as this is sarcastic and droll. I need to sound like a woman while also play it straight rather than over-the-top.
If you love The Golden Girls, murder mysteries, or watching someone clearly have a very good time on stage, this show might be for you. Bonus: it comes with a three-course dinner.
Book it on your calendars for February 21 if you happen to be in the Brant County area.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
