Being neurodivergent means I rarely understand how friendship works. I see people who encourage others or hang out together, and I wonder what caused those two to connect when we all met in the same place. What is the secret formula for finding someone who connects with you, but then having that person feel the same way?
What is the thing that makes people actually like you?
Of course, knowing how quickly my social battery drains, I then wonder: do I have it in me to maintain a new relationship when I feel I can barely keep the ones I have?
Even then, I never seem to know how one in my life feels about me compared to my feelings.
Then maybe that is the other problem; I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about most things in life too.
But still, being able to make friends doesn't seem to be my superpower in life, and I don't entirely know what harness that power.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
