The Breakdown of The Feel-Good Movies: 'Back to the Future', 'Coming to America'. 'Matilda', 'Spy Kids' and 'The Pursuit of Happyness'

Right now, everybody needs something to lift our spirits and give us some warm fuzzies. So, this week we've picked five positive and fun movie that will put a smile on your face. It is our first (but maybe not our last) The Breakdown of the Feel-Good Movies. I will tell you right now, one of the movies we review is what I consider the perfect movie and right near the top of my all-time great movies list (when I make it) and is the film that I turn to on a gloomy day that needs some sunshine.

We've got two movies that really connected with movie-going audience in the 1980s as they were massive box office hits. The first is the sci-fi adventure mixed with 1950s nostalgia trip blended in with intimate family comedy in the most influential time travel picture, Back to the Future. The king of the 1980s Eddie Murphy stars in the romantic comedy, Coming to America. Speaking of huge stars, we also review the Will Smith starring biopic The Pursuit of Happyness. What is more feel-good than some kid movies and we have two of those. There is the adaptation of the Roald Dahl novel Matilda and as well, the sweeping kids adventure Spy Kids.

We had a lot of fun recording this week's episode and we really hope you love it. If love is what you're feeling, then please share it by spreading the word of our show on social media. It will really help us out and allow us to do even more things for you in the future.

Reminder that you can subscribe either to The Movie Breakdown feed (a subscription link is at the top right hand of this site) or on iTunes (if you enjoy the show, please help us by giving us a five star review).
