All Aboard! 'Murder on the Orient Express' Opens in Fergus

It is the opening night of Playful Fox Productions' version of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. What a ride my year-plus adventure in theatre has been.

It all started last December in an ensemble role with Team Spicer in Beauty & the Beast where I had the privilege of carting around Everett as Chip, which we thought would be his theatre highlight for some time. Next. my family was ensemble in Anastasia in May and June. Emily and I received prominent feature roles where we got to do a bit more acting. Danika was thrilled with a significant feature role as Little Anastasia and Everett got to play Alexei.

Anyone that follows me, knows all about the next one. It was on to the summer when I got gifted the awesome role of Mr. Beaver in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Everett and Danika stretched themselves by playing my cubs, and Emily played my wife as Mrs. Beaver. It was a major role in the play, and I apologize if this sounds vain, but we ended up being crowd favourites most nights. The cast was very special and it remains a fond memory.

Then it was James and the Giant Peach, where Everett got the title role. I got to play the melodramatic Earthworm and the nasty Aunt Spiker. The cast was small but so beautiful and fun. I loved my role, but the extra special part was seeing my son shine.

It all leads to tonight. Not as large as my last two roles, but Michel the conductor is the first one that really pushes me dramatically. And I'm surrounded by some very talented and impressive actors. This is an intriguing murder mystery filled with drama, heartbreak, humour, and thrills.

Brian Otto and Karyn Monk prove why they are acting veterans and will amaze. But everyone has a moment to really shine.

Come out to Fergus this weekend or consider Kitchener on Valentine's Day weekend. You can get tickets here
