Today is 'Pink Shirt Day'.
Today is about more than just accepting those who are different from us but rather openly embracing them and working hard to understand them better.
Today is about recognizing bullying in all its forms - racism, bigotry, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, and cruelty. It takes many shapes, and we must call it out wherever it appears.
Today is about being brave enough to stand up for others who are persecuted, abused, and neglected.
Today is about being a better and stronger person so my kids are inspired to craft a more open, loving, compassionate, and empathetic world.
Today is a volatile, toxic, and chaotic time, making it more important than ever to acknowledge what 'Pink Shirt Day' stands for.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
