Today marks the final day of The Music Man, and my heart is brimming with both gratitude and a touch of sorrow. What a magnificent journey this has been. When I first stepped into the role of Mayor Shinn, I had no idea just how meaningful this production would become.
From the very first rehearsal to last night's bow, this show has been so much more than just a performance, because it's been an adventure, a community, and, in many ways, a lifeline. The cast, crew, directorial team, and band are among the most genuine, talented, and kind-hearted people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. There's something truly special about a theatre family, and how quickly we come together, how deeply we support one another, and how freely we bond.
This group felt like home. Behind the scenes, these past few months have been a time of deep personal growth and reflection. As I’ve worked through depression and begun to better understand myself through a neurodivergent diagnosis, The Music Man became more than just a creative outlet. It became a source of steady joy and grounding that I could count on when the world felt a little wobbly.
The encouragement and love I received from this incredible community helped carry me through some challenging days. I will never stop being grateful for that. It's hard to say goodbye to a show that has meant so much. I'll miss the camaraderie, the massive applause, the transformation that happens when a group of people pour their hearts into something bigger than themselves. I’ll miss the moments on stage and off, especially the ones that remind me why I love theatre in the first place.
But it’s not over quite yet. We still have two performances today, and I promise you, you don’t want to miss them.
If you’ve ever wanted to see a show that radiates heart, joy, and toe-tapping charm, The Music Man is it. Bring your friends, bring your family, and let us take you on one last trip to River City.
🎟️ Tickets are available here. Come join us. I’d love to see you there.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
