Sometimes you hit a career low that makes you question your skill, your ability, and even your worth. The imposter syndrome screams louder than ever, and self-doubt becomes the dominant thought.
The last few years have been an emotional and mental war zone. I now see that burnout pushed me to sabotage a few clients and gigs, not out of laziness or lack of care, but because I was fighting against my own brain. My autism and ADHD diagnoses have helped me finally understand that struggle and start rebuilding in a way that works with my wiring, not against it.
Still, the fallout has been tough. My chequing account has been closed, and I now have a personal loan of about $1,800 to pay off. It’s hard to be creative when it feels like your ship has a thousand holes and all you’ve got to patch them is a bag of frozen peas.
I’m grateful to have some wonderful clients, but it’s not enough yet to climb out of this hole or even cover basics like new shoes, Christmas gifts for the kids, and reactivating my phone plan.
So, if you’ve followed my work over the years and enjoyed what I create, I’d be deeply grateful for any support, whether through opportunities or donations.

I’m available for quick-turnaround writing work like reviews, essays, parenting or mental health pieces, or creative copy for your business. I also offer custom short stories as one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
