The Latest 'Life on the Balcony' Explains Why I’m Skipping New Year’s Resolutions

It’s been an annual tradition for me to post several goals for the year on this site.

And then often not deliver on any of them.

I know the reasons now. I also know how easily I can get lost in ambition and hype. This year, I’m taking a different approach. Instead of rigid goals, I’m committing to bettering myself, showing love to the people I cherish, creating meaningful work, while recognizing that mistakes will happen, and that they don’t mean I need to start from scratch.

I talk about this new approach in the latest Life on the Balcony newsletter. And because I can’t help myself, I also share my current plans for the eventual paid tier.

Those plans are flexible, though, and the rollout will be gentle.

I want to thank you all for your continued support during what has been a very interesting year. I wish you all a wonderful 2026!
