I need a little magic right now. I need a sudden, quick turnaround client to arrive or some influx of cash before Christmas to feel a little above water and loosen the stranglehold. It isn't likely, but my mind says it is impossible. But there are times in my life when the delightfully unexpected does happen.
One LinkedIn post I never gave a second thought to went viral, garnering over 200,000 impressions.
Out of the blue, Spreaker made an offer for The Movie Breakdown to join their Prime group.
One of my best-paying gigs came from someone offering me a contract because they loved what I wrote on this site.
Readers randomly showed their appreciation for my work by donating some money before I had a tip jar.
A friend stopped by to just give me a coffee to brighten my day.
A complete stranger bought dinner for my kids and me.
I found $20.00 on the ground, which paid for my lunch that day.
Danika discovered a large sum of money on the ground that no one would claim.
Losing one job opportunity meant I was suddenly available for a much more high-profile and dream position when it opened,
You don't expect these things often. But they happen. When they do, you make sure to truly treasure and appreciate them. Even if nothing happens in the next few days, I'm grateful for all the wonders and magic I've experienced every day.

If my work resonates with you and you’d like to support it, there are a few ways you can help:
Subscribe to Life on the Balcony newsletter
Toss a few dollars into the tip jar via the Support Me badge or my Ko-fi page.
Consider hiring me for your business.
Or order one of my custom Santa Letters and Christmas Stories
Every bit genuinely helps. Not just financially, but emotionally. It helps me keep going, keep writing, and keep building something that matters.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
