So, I Played Stardew Valley

Everett gave me a Steam gift card for Christmas, so I decided it was time to treat myself to a new game. After looking through what had strong reviews and fit my tastes, which include The Secret of Monkey Island, SimCity, Out of the Park Baseball, Civilization, The Legend of Zelda, Space Quest, and plenty more, one title kept standing out: Stardew Valley.

Wow. What a perfect pick.

The farming is relaxing. I love slowly getting to know the villagers. The mining has an addictive pull. Fishing is driving me absolutely nuts. And I just love immersing myself in this quiet little farming village.

There seem to be lots of different strategies, but no single “right” way to play. It’s generous and forgiving, which makes experimenting feel fun instead of stressful. I love trying new things and gradually building up my farm at my own pace.

This is completely my jam, and it risks becoming a new addiction; I highly recommend it.
