The Tortoise Won the Race

 

It is going to be a slow week here on Beyond the Balcony. The plan has shifted to the first 2026 episode of The Movie Breakdown to drop next Monday, maybe a short Life on the Balcony this week before the promised series finally arrives, the first 2026 movie review pushed to later this week or next, and essentially, a lower-key week with eyes on hitting the groove before January ends.

I'm going to pace myself. I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed, and really struggling just to feel like I'm in control. And I am really recognizing that planning to run a daily pop culture site, a weekly podcast, a weekly newsletter, a successful freelance career, and everything else in life is a lot even for someone not trying to manage a neurodivergent mind and stumble out of burnout.

It is all still on the docket. 2026 will still be a great year. The tortoise won because he paced himself and allowed some time to breathe in the tulips and enjoy the fluttering butterflies.

We'll get there.
