What I Need to Do Even if it Scares Me


I need to speak up more.

I need to stand up for myself more.

I need to allow my thoughts and perceptions to come to the forefront more.

I need to externalize before internalize when offended or hurt.

I need to trust my instinct and opinions.

But...

I also must recognize the energy each of these things costs.

Even when I make myself clear that I may not only be misunderstood but that what I said or the response it garners will follow me.

It is how my brain works.

But advocating for myself and allowing my actions and thought process to become more widely known is crucial for my mental health and feeling seen.

I need to call out what hurts me, but be ready for the reaction and being called out just the same.

In that hope, maybe we can all start to be better.
