Often feel like a kid in a place where I should be an adult. I'm told what to do. I struggle to make significant financial contributions. It often feels like if someone needs help or advice, they look for someone else. It often feels like no one thinks I'm actually the person to turn to for help. I feel my voice is largely ignored. Meanwhile, my likes and interests seem scoffed at by those my age. I am ashamed to speak about my actual thoughts, feelings, and desires.
I often stay quiet. Because I'll be shot down. Or it will be something stupid. Or who am I to weigh in with what I want or need, because I haven't earned that yet. I haven't contributed enough.
I keep thinking I'll get there someday. But if I stay silent, nothing may change.

I am a writer, so I write. When I am not writing, I will eat candy, drink beer, and destroy small villages.
